The idea is to calculate emitted energy from a cellular device in order to know if we are getting closer/further to it.

Additionally, an AoA (angle of Arrival) algorithm is applied in GNURadio in order to calculate the angle from the phone top the SDR.

 

The meaning of the Passive approach, is to get the data that is

required to locate a cellular device when the cellular is not

an integral part of the network.
